WHY TO JOIN THIS PROGRAM?

I'm a martial arts professional with over 20 years of experience in training, competition and coaching.

 

I'm a World Champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a national kick-boxing champion, and an accredited Advanced Self-defence Instructor Level 2. 

A lot of my work on is based on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) techniques. BJJ is a martial art in which a smaller opponent can have a technical advantage over a bigger adversary by utilising leverage, take downs and choke holds. Jiu Jitsu is also one of very few martial arts that addresses the issue of defence when the fight goes to the ground. When faced with a threat, a physically smaller person is at a strength disadvantage, therefore psychology and smart choices must be employed when defending oneself. Jiu Jitsu is more than just a martial art. Similarly to yoga, it is also a philosophy and a way of life. It is what In Portuguese it is described as 'arte suave' which translates into 'gentle art'.

In Jiu Jitsu one faces their fears and weaknesses and discovers true joy that comes with overcoming obstacles by pushing through mental and physical barriers. To me Jiu Jitsu is a beautiful path of

self-discovery and finding the inner strength.
